Dr. Antonios Nestoras

Founder and Director

Antonios Nestoras is a European thinker working at the crossroads of security, technology and industrial strategy. With 20 years in academia, think tanks and public administration, he is an influential voice in EU policymaking, and his work has appeared in the Financial Times, Politico and Euronews. He has authored or edited over 40 publications, from policy reports to peer-reviewed articles and books, and is the Founder and Chief Editor of the Future Europe Journal. He holds a double PhD in Social and Political Science from VUB and the University of Antwerp and was a Huygens Scholar at Leiden University. He leads EPIC, a thinking movement reshaping Europe with evidence-based policy.

Vassilis S. Kessidis

Secretary General

Vassilis Kessidis is EPIC’s acting Secretary General and a PhD candidate in Strategy and Diplomacy. A native of Ancona, he serves as Commissioner on Foreign Affairs of the National Youth Council of Italy and brings an academic background spanning linguistics and EU-US relations. He has worked across Italy, Greece and Brussels in European institutions, think tanks and political consultancy, including as campaign associate on the 2019 and 2024 Spitzenkandidaten campaigns for the European Commission Presidency, digital media associate on Greek party primaries and Malta’s 2022 opposition campaign, and campaign manager in the 2025 Croatian mayoral race. His work centres on strategic planning and communication, digital campaigning and policy advice.

Krzysztof Bulski

Director, Strategy for Europe Programme and Member of the Management Board

Krzysztof Bulski is a co-founder of EPIC, where he directs the Strategy for Europe Programme and sits on the Management Board. His work connects EU policymaking with economic and societal outcomes, with a focus on the points where European ambition meets institutional and infrastructural limits, in industrial policy, energy and security. He speaks regularly in European media and at international conferences on EU politics, lobbying, soft power and Europe’s future.

Bernada CUNJ

Bernada Cunj

Board Member

Bernada Cunj is a Brussels-based public affairs professional and Senior Associate Director at APCO Worldwide, and a Founding Board Member of EPIC, where she co-shapes strategy and operational oversight. She is completing PhD research at KU Leuven’s Public Governance Institute on European integration, political foundations and governance structures. Her recent work includes the joint EPIC and Friedrich Naumann Foundation initiative tracking readiness and policy alignment in EU candidate countries. Earlier she spent four years at the British Chamber of Commerce EU and Belgium, where she led public affairs and became a leading voice on UK-EU trade, and over seven years at the Wilfried Martens Centre and the EPP. She holds master’s degrees from the University of Zagreb and KU Leuven.

Francesco Sismondini

Board Member

Francesco Sismondini is a political analyst, journalist and advocate for youth rights. He is President of European Democrat Students (EDS), the official student organisation of the European People’s Party, and Liaison Officer at the Brussels Research Office of the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore. He holds a Master’s in International Relations from the University of Milan, where he researched human rights in China with a focus on the protection of religious minorities, and a Bachelor’s from Università Cattolica. He contributes to media outlets including Euronews and wrote “Are young Europeans tired of the digital world?” for the Wilfried Martens Centre for European Studies.

Alexandros Dimitriou

Greece

Alexandros Dimitriou is a Greek economist and quantitative researcher based in Luxembourg, where he works at PwC’s Asset and Wealth Management and ESG Research Center. His path runs from physics to accounting and finance and now an MSc in Mathematical Economics. He has worked at the Bank of Greece and the Hellenic Parliamentary Budget Office, using data and economic modelling to inform policy decisions. His interests are macroeconomics, evidence-based policy and the role of young people in Europe’s economic future.

Emilio M. Saber

United States

Emilio M. Saber is a Greek-American PhD student in Political Science at Tulane University in New Orleans. His research covers international political economy, cybersecurity and cyber warfare, and the rise and decline of great powers. He works with quantitative methods and formal modelling, and is currently studying Bayesian statistics for political science. His current work applies these tools to the spread of Russian propaganda in Europe, bridging rigorous empirical analysis with policy-relevant insight.

Sofia Arnone

Italy

Sofia Arnone is a Brussels-based international relations professional specialising in international security and diplomacy, with research interests in geopolitics, energy and resource management. She has worked at the Italian Embassy in Costa Rica on political analysis and institutional communication, and at Consulta Europa in Gran Canaria on EU-funded Horizon projects for peripheral regions. She manages communication for the Young European Society and writes on Latin America for the EPIS Think Tank. She holds an Advanced Master’s in International and Diplomatic Functions from the University of Bologna.

Rodolph Zgheib

Lebanon

Rodolph Zgheib is a Lebanese professional in management, political affairs, diplomacy and international development. He is Youth International Secretary of the Lebanese Forces Party, Vice Chair of the European Democrat Students and Founder and Chief Operating Officer of Stratagem LLC, an operational support company. He holds a bachelor’s in Political Science and International Relations and an International Master’s in Project Management from the Rome Business School, and has led projects and partnerships across the corporate, political and non-governmental sectors.

Myden Michaella Tanriver

Sweden

Myden Michaella Tanriver is a final-year LL.M. student at Stockholm University, focused on international and European law. She is International Secretary and Spokesperson for Foreign, Defence and Security Policy of the Young Christian Democrats of Sweden (KDU) and a Political Secretary for the Christian Democrats in Region Stockholm. She previously worked at the Swedish Tax Agency. Her interests lie in public international law, constitutional law and how legal frameworks respond to new security challenges and protect democratic institutions.

Carlos Felipe Di Giovanni

Spain

Carlos Felipe Di Giovanni works on politics and public policy with a focus on economics, digitalisation and electoral polling. He studied Business and Management in Spain and is pursuing an Executive Master’s in European Integration at the Brussels School of Governance. He began his career in digital marketing before moving into EU public affairs at a boutique consultancy specialising in the digital sector, where he contributed to policy work on technology and regulation in Europe.

Nora Stromme

Norway

Born in Norway and raised in France, Nora Stromme is a Brussels-based professional working at the European Parliament. She has a background in European Studies and a master’s degree in political strategy and communication. Her interests centre on European policy, with a focus on gender equality and social policy in the EU.

Konstantinos Mourtopallas

Greece

Konstantinos Mourtopallas is a legal professional and PhD candidate in constitutional law at the Democritus University of Thrace. He serves in Greece’s Ministry for Climate Crisis and Civil Protection, working on legislative drafting, parliamentary affairs and policy coordination in civil protection and public administration. He was previously a legal advisor at the General Secretariat for Legal and Parliamentary Affairs and a visiting researcher at the University of Palermo (DEMS), and has published in collective volumes of Italian universities.

Filippo Maria Passarini

Italy

Filippo Maria Passarini is a trainee at the European Parliament, following the TRAN, ITRE, SANT and PECH committees. His work focuses on defence readiness and how Europe governs the infrastructure and technology behind its security and competitiveness. He graduated in Management from ESCP Business School with First Class Honours, with a thesis on military mobility built on interviews with EU agencies, the defence industry and rail logistics. Earlier experience includes Leonardo S.p.A., 12Venture and TV Republika. He speaks Italian, English and Polish.

Julia Menéndez Lada

Spain

Julia Menéndez Lada is a Senior Associate at FGS Global, a strategic advisory and communications consultancy, where she advises clients in agrifood, trade and health. She is also European Public Affairs and Communications Manager at the World Iodine Association. She previously held EU affairs roles at Hague Corporate Affairs and completed traineeships at K&L Gates and PwC. She holds bachelor’s degrees in Law and Economics, a master’s in European Studies and a master’s in Admission to the Bar.
